Mechanical and Hardware Design

  • Real time servo motor control in parallel with real time object tracking

    • Mounted PS3 webcam above the structure collecting continuous real time images

  • 3 ball in socket joints, one attached to each servo arm and the middle of the plate to support the structure 

  • The ball balancing plate sits on top of corner "seats" screwed down on a base plate

    • The design allows for easy replacements of the balancing plate so that we can accomodate for various maze designs​

    • The space between the two plates allows for the ball to fall through if a maze plate was inserted

  • The processor used is National Instruments myRIO
